Q: What Causes Facial Wrinkles?
A natural part of the aging process, wrinkles occur as your skin becomes less elastic, drier, and thinner. As you age, your skin loses its ability to protect itself from damage.
Q: What Is Restylane?
Restylane is a dermal filler made of a biodegradable and nonanimal stabilized hyaluronic acid, or NASHA. Restylane is just a hyaluronic acid gel that is produced to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. In patients over 21, it can also be used for lip augmentation.
Q: What Are Dermal Fillers? What Is the Hyaluronic Acid?
Dermal fillers are material that is either naturally derived or synthetic. Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to straighten out wrinkles, folds, or depressions. Hyaluronic acid is the name of the filler used in Restylane treatments. It’s a natural substance found in all living things, and it works to restore the skin.
Q: How Long Do Restylane Treatments Last?
Individual Restylane results will vary depending on the area of skin you applied the treatment to. Lip treatments last 3-4 months, while tear trough treatments can last over a year. The average Restylane treatment will last 6-9 months.
